Albania, Bulgaria and Croatia Join ETFMS Programme Further partnering countries in South-East Europe have been taken on board of the Enhanced Tactical Flow Management System (ETFMS) programme generating up-to-date air traffic information. KARLSRUHE/GERMANY, May 2009 – As part of EUROCONTROL’s ambitious implementation plan, approaching increased coverage of South-East Europe for the Central Flow Management Unit (CFMU) at Brussels and Paris, new Entry Nodes have been ordered for the member states Albania, Bulgaria and Croatia. COMSOFT, EUROCONTROL’s long-time industry partner in many prestigious infrastructure projects, will deploy and integrate the systems in Tirana, Sofia and Zagreb within the next few months. ETFMS is a EUROCONTROL programme managing the overall air traffic in the CFMU area and performing its most known task, namely the allocation of slots for all aircraft movements in European airspace. Based upon correlated position reports (CPR) the precise anticipation of traffic demand is achieved, resulting in a high degree of efficiency thus reducing air pollution, delays and cost. CPRs are composed of flight plan data and positional data of the current traffic situation, collected in real-time from Entry Nodes at ATC centres all over Europe. Today’s network embraces 35 centres in 25 countries contributing to this example of successful cooperation between European ANSPs, coordinated by EUROCONTROL. COMSOFT had been assigned the initial development back in 2000 and now provides continuous and highly reliable service to all participating member states. COMSOFT is pleased to serve the new members with their integration management for the latest CFMU Entry Nodes. COMSOFT GmbH was established in 1979 and has been EUROCONTROL’s industry partner since 1989 after being entrusted with the development of the powerful radar data front-end processor RMCDE for Europe’s RADNET.
