FAMUS Adopts COMSOFT Systems

Germany-based COMSOFT has been chosen to supply ATC equipment for major ATC project in Serbia.

BELGRADE/SERBIA, September 2009 – COMSOFT will supply various ATM systems to SMATSA (Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Service Agency) and install these in Belgrade. The selection of products provided by the German ATC specialist will be implemented in the context of the modernization project FAMUS. FAMUS stands for Future Air Traffic Management Modernization and Upgrade System, and includes the erection of a new ATC centre at Belgrade airport. Completion of the entire complex including all ATM systems is scheduled for end of 2010.

COMSOFT will provide the complete messaging solution for the handling and distribution of flight plans, plus various well-matching components for the processing and recording of surveillance data, as listed:

  • AIDA-NG and CADAS-ATS - the market-leading aeronautical messaging system for CIDIN, AFTN and AMHS and its flexible user terminal solution,
  • ARTAS as main tracking system - the EUROCONTROL tracker that has been installed in about 40 ATC centres throughout Europe,
  • RMCDE - the powerful surveillance front-end processor and cornerstone of the European RADNET,
  • ADR - the flexible surveillance data converter,
  • RRR - the well-proven and highly reliable recoding solution for large data amounts.

With this package the customer will benefit from the proven interoperability of all delivered COMSOFT systems, which, in addition, will harmonize future communication procedures.
