GCAA and COMSOFT Further Intensify their Business Relations

AMSTERDAM/THE NETHERLANDS, March 2009 – On the verge of bringing to completion their new air traffic control centre in Abu Dhabi and after several months of successful operation of an advanced ATC system, GCAA ordered further complementing products from the German ATC expert COMSOFT. These additional orders represent a tremendous endorsement of their mutually fruitful business partnership.

On the occasion of the annual ATC exhibition in Amsterdam GCAA's Director Air Navigation Service, Mr. Hassan Karam, and COMSOFT's managing director Mr. Manfred Schmid sealed this business by signing the contracts. “As the UAE's ACC runs 1500 movements a day and we need to move fast towards safe and efficient Air Traffic Management,” stated Karam.

The new contract includes additional subsystems such as an ATC archiving server, a diversity display system and a network monitoring system for COMSOFT's PRISMA. A particular highlight is the ATC automation of the ATCO support functions CLAM and advanced en-route arrival management. Further elements of the contract are a master installation and migration plan.

PRISMA is COMSOFT's automation system for en-route, approach and tower.

The new Sheikh Zayed Centre is due for official operation on June 1st.
