CADAS-ATS
AMHS and ATS User Agent
AMHS and ATS User Agent
The CADAS-ATS is an advanced messaging solution adapted to the needs and wishes of ATS operators. In this AMHS Terminal Application, Comsoft has combined the reliable and proven ATS CADAS product family with its expert skills in the leading-edge AMHS technology.

Within the next years, AMHS, based on X.400, will worldwide take over the ATS services that are currently handled via the AFTN. Today's X.400 User Agents are not able to meet the challenging demands of the aeronautical community.

The CADAS-ATS, however, provides both the
features and convenience functions of a highly sophisticated ATS message terminal combined with the message handling capabilities of an AMHS User Agent. The built-in compatibility with AFTN facilitates the seamless transition from AFTN to AMHS networks and fosters the ATS operators' acceptance of the new AMHS technology.

The CADAS ATS User Agent is a particularly flexible system that can be deployed as a standalone terminal or as a client-server system. The latter approach is best suited for mid- to large-sized client installations with up to several hundreds of terminals. The advanced features of the CADAS server cluster, like redundancy, load-sharing, high-speed clustered database, and high availability/reliability, combined with the elaborate ATS functionality exceed those of standard X.400 Message Stores by far.

AIS Application

The CADAS-ATS provides a full set of ICAO message forms for FPL and associated messages, NOTAM messages as well as meteorological messages.
A built-in field wizard assists the user with message creation. Moreover, online field checks guarantee correct messages so
that no erroneous message can ever leave the AMHS User Agent. The Aeronautical Reference Database, which is used for the compilation and semantic checking of ATS messages, can be centrally administrated to reduce maintenance costs. The Aeronautical Reference Database supports the terminal access to static data of type Jeppesen ARINC 424, AIXM, and ICAO Doc. 7910/8643.

Message operations are further facilitated by the possibility to store draft messages, flight plans, and routes in databases for later use. Besides the ATS messaging standardised by ICAO and WMO recommendations, the CADAS-ATS fully supports AMHS free text formats in line with the ICAO SARPs.

In addition to text messaging, the CADAS-ATS allows to send, receive, and display file attachments, such as documents and charts. File attachment handling is improved and speeded by AMHS services, which is of great benefit for daily operations dealing with meteorological charts, AIP documents, Pre-flight Information Bulletins, and other ATS-related information.

AMHS defines powerful and future-oriented addressing schemes to address each and every end user in the world. The CADAS AMHS Terminal supports the daily work
of an ATS operator with both an address book facility and access to national and international Directory Services.
